According to the data, since 2015, the domestic locker market has continued to grow steadily, with an average annual growth rate of 17%, and reached 6.61 billion yuan in 2017. It is expected that the size of the market will reach ten billion yuan in 2020.

One is that compared with traditional lockers, shared lockers have superiority in offering convenience to users without the drawbacks of traditional ones. Supermarket is where has the strongest demand.
In the survey from users, the demand for shared lockers in the entrance of supermarket occupied the most, which reaches 60.1%. This is because the traditional supermarket lockers are cumbersome to operate, and users need to keep a ticket to take out, some of which even need a one-yuan coin. But with shared lockers, everything can be done via WeChat, what is more, some shared lockers even support fingerprint unlocking or equip with facial recognition function.
Users' concerns about shared lockers
In the survey of users' concerns about shared lockers, safety is what most people care (80.3%), 71.2% of users pay great attention to the size of the storage cabinet, which, in their words, decides the practicality and application. For example, lockers for cinema and supermarket don't actually need a large space whereas these in transportation hub, like railway station require a relatively large space. In the light of storage time, the current shared locker platform has enhanced the experience with more user-friendly settings.
According to analysts, the locker industry is a fragmented yet large market, with the tailwind of shared business and the trend of mobile payment, shared lockers will inevitably replace those hard-to-maintenance, inconvenient traditional lockers.
