Electric mortise lock is a kind of electronic control lock, making the “bolt” extends or retracts by taking on or off the current to lock or open the door. Electric mortise lock is usually combined of mainly two parts: lock body and lockhole. The key part in lock body is "bolt", together with "lockhole", it can open or close the door. In other words, insert the bolt into the lockhole to close the door, and pull out to open. Because of the lock tongue scalable function, it is called "electric mortise lock". It was also because of this characteristic that electric mortise lock is often used to all kinds of flat open door (two-way open). At the same time, its "hidden" installation is more suitable for occasions with high requirements of the confidentiality of the lock body.

The mechanism of magnetic lock is the same with the electromagnet, which uses the electrical magnetic and then heteropolar attraction, when an electric current passes through the silicon steel sheet, electromagnetic lock will produce a powerful suction adsorption iron plate to achieve the effect of locking the door. With a small current electromagnetic lock can produce a great deal of magnetic, so the person of entrance guard control system identification can power off right after power on to open the door. Because the electromagnetic lock doesn't have complicated mechanical structure and bolt, which is applicable in doors or fire door access control. Its internal use perfusion epoxy resin (epoxy) to protect the lock body. At present, the suction strength of electromagnetic lock is expressed in LB (pounds), and the test method is static pressure. Electromagnetic lock after electrify  is slowly and gradually increasing the tensile strength of the adsorption of iron plate, and as soon as the strength is beyond electromagnetic lock suction, it will pull away adsorption iron plate, and the pull force data is tension value of electromagnetic lock. Electromagnetic lock must be face to face with the active force of adsorption iron plate and the linear pressure, so the electromagnetic lock suction is the largest. Adsorption iron plate is likely to be shortly magnetized because of a long time magnetic induction.

The transmission of signal outputting among entrance guard card, magnetic locks and electricity mortise lock: it is usually achieved by several common way of data transmission such as RS422, RS485 and RS232. RS422 is a duplex data transmission mode to the outside transmission. 3 or 5 signal lines are used in situations with many wiring. In the placket system, they are used for inducting with signals of magnetic locks or electricity mortise locks.

RS485 communication converter: double half singular data transmission signal. Its characteristic is less wiring. Long transmission distance and the magnetic locks and electric mortise locks access with it should not be too much, or else must have multiple interface management. But the agreement will relatively be more complex. RS323 communication converter, it is used in intelligent devices, which has short transmission distance, and as now there are more intelligent equipments, it is more commonly applied. So it also has the most widely application.
